Kakioura is one of the 3 points of the Alpine Pacific Triangle in New Zealand. Running down the West coast, I believe it is home to one of the most stunning coastlines I have seen. On a sunny day it is hard to separate the blue sky and crystal clear ocean!
Compared to nearby villages, Kakioura pulls in the tourist for whale, dolphin and seal watching. Coastal walks are popular, especially down to the peninsula ( Point Kean) where you can see the seal roaming around on the rocks. If brave enough you can have a guided swim with the seals, which are apparently rather playful and friendly.
