Vang Vieng, Laos

A 5 hour mini bus journey north of Vientiane takes you to a popular stop off place called Vang Vieng. 2years ago this place was known by the tubing and drinking, by in 2012 things changed- which the locals are glad to see.

Vang Vieng is set on the Nam Song river and surrounded by steep cliffs and paddy fields. This sets Vang Vieng up for outdoor adventures from rock climbing to caving and kayaking and the most obvious being tubing….we had a go at the later three as well as rent a scooter. Photos can never really describe how incredible the views are….but here is a shot!

Whilst in Vang Vieng we visited a night market/fair. This might only really happen every blue moon as it seemed like everyone was there and up for a party….well until 10pm, when the locals decided it was time to head off.
