Amulet market, Bangkok

Lining the streets to The Golden palace and Wat Phra Kaew is a impressive amulet market. The densely packed stalls are really all selling the same thing, small talismans, which are prized collectables by monks, locals and apparently people in dangerous professions!

For people who are wanting to buy..it is not a simple thing to do. Careful examinations with magnifying glasses and magazines are used as well as a good bargaining skills.

In Bangkok, the idea of selling these talismans isn’t really part of their belief so they call it ‘renting’ to get around the idea of selling religious objects.20140919-152248-55368769.jpg
