China town, Bangkok

Having been spending the days visiting wats and temples it is nice to spend a bit of time away of them. So venturing to the complicated and slightly overpowering alleyways of China town to enjoy some delicious street food and a wander during the evening is definitely a great option.

Most guidebooks say getting lost is the best way to look around, but maybe not being so adventurous we had a go at Lonely planet china town street food trail. 7 stalls, 7 dishes- each tasting of a different and unique flavour and 3 hours.

Unfortunately some of the stalls weren’t open or around that night, so only completed half of it, but to be honest after 3 dishes we were kinda full.

Between each meal, we looked at the numerous street food stalls, all cooking everything from scratch within a few minutes. Some I must admit looked slightly dodgy and often had no queue. But top of the most popular/wierd choices included duck, pork, seafood, noodles and broths….oh and not to forget the shark fin soup and bird nest soup!

We did have a Pad Thai (30Baht), but it kind of went to quickly for a photo. But some other people ordered it to go…in banana cups
