Coconut kale chips

When 5.00 strikes and the stomach starts to grumble a biscuit or pack of crisps is often then choice of snack (not really the best option all the time)! Looking around for different snacks in the supermarket the Americans are obsessed with the idea of kale chips. Charging up to $ 10 for a pot of crisp kale.

I wouldn’t say its worth it, especially as fresh kale is so cheap and readily available. So why not make your own …which is why I made my own.

Ingredients

30g butter, melted
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp sirachi sauce
Coconut flakes
Bunch of kale, stems removed

Method

Preheat the oven to 150oC

Mix all the ingredients together ( excluding the kale and coconut flakes)

Lightly toss the sauce with the kale- you may not need all the sauce and sprinkle over the coconut flakes

Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes in total, checking every 10 minutes as kale burns and becomes bitter
